DE MONTAL Armagnac Vint. 2001 GVP 70cl

THE PROCESS

Distilled in 2001, this Armagnac was matured in traditional 100-gallon oak barrels crafted from century-old white oak trees sourced from the forests of Monlezun and Frêche, renowned for their exceptional brandy. In the cellars, the eau-de-vie aged slowly, where natural evaporation, known as “la part des anges,” ensured a gradual reduction through continuous exchange between the spirit, the oak fibres and the surrounding air. As a true vintage, it originates entirely from the 2001 harvest and reflects the distinctive character of that single year.

TASTE PROFILE

On the nose, this 2001 vintage reveals a full and elegant aroma with hints of vanilla and delicate floral notes. The bouquet is refined and well balanced, supported by subtle oak influence developed during maturation.

On the palate, pronounced tannins and rich wood tones come forward, reflecting the years of ageing in oak barrels. Notes of ripe plums, bay leaf and liquorice add depth and complexity to the flavour profile.

The finish is full and smooth, leaving a lasting impression of its mature character and harmonious structure.
