Distilled in 2006 on Scotland’s remote Orkney Islands, this single malt reflects the rugged character of its island home. Although the distillery remains undisclosed, the whisky displays the region’s signature balance of gentle peat smoke, maritime freshness and rich complexity.
The spirit matured for 17 years in Oloroso Sherry Butt #5051, where the influence of the sherry cask gradually merged with the whisky’s naturally coastal and smoky character. The result is a beautifully layered dram with depth, richness and balance.
Selected by Berry Bros. & Rudd for a single cask release, the whisky was bottled in 2023 at its natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. Just 549 bottles were released worldwide.
On the nose, rich aromas of dried fruits, dark chocolate and orange peel are complemented by gentle peat smoke and warming spices.
The palate is full-bodied and complex, revealing layers of sherry sweetness, raisins, roasted nuts and oak, balanced by subtle maritime smoke.
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dark fruit, spice and soft peat smoke.
