Berry Bros. & Rudd Blair Athol 2009 is a 14-year-old Highland single malt from the Blair Athol Distillery, released as part of the Glens and Valleys series by the renowned independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd.
Distilled in 2009, it was initially matured in a hogshead before receiving a finish in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead (No. 307595). Bottled in 2024 at natural cask strength of 55.6% ABV, this whisky is non chill filtered and contains no added colouring. It is a limited single cask release of just 284 bottles.
On the nose, aromas of raisins and dark chocolate emerge, supported by a rich malt character.
The palate reveals caramelised brown sugar and ripe cherries, complemented by layers of sweet sherry influence and a subtle hint of leather and oak.
The finish is long and refined, with fading sweet sherry notes intertwined with gentle spicy touches of ginger and black pepper.
