This single cask whisky was distilled in 2009 at Glentauchers Distillery, located near Keith in the heart of Speyside. Founded in 1898, the distillery has built a reputation for producing elegant and fruity spirits that are highly valued by blenders and independent bottlers alike.
For this release, Berry Bros. & Rudd selected Cask No. 900515, a Butt in which the whisky matured for approximately 14 years. Bottled in 2023 as a true single cask expression, the whisky was released without any finishing, allowing the distillery character to shine through.
Presented at its natural cask strength of 63.7% ABV, without chill filtration and with no added colouring, only 344 bottles were produced from this exceptional cask.
On the nose, aromas of lemongrass, hay and green apple are joined by notes of unripe banana, nutmeg and lemon balm.
The palate reveals layers of orange, toasted almonds, nuts and citrus zest, balanced by creamy sweetness and gentle oak influence.
The finish is long and zesty, with lingering citrus notes, subtle spice and elegant oak.
