THE PROCESS

An 18 Year Old malt originating from an undisclosed Islay distillery, released as part of independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Single Cask: Crafted in Cask collection. Distilled in 2007, and matured for 18 years in a Butt, before a finishing period in an Oloroso sherry cask. Only 667 bottles were produced, bottled without artificial colouring or chill filtration at natural cask strength of 55.5% ABV.

TASTE PROFILE

Berry Bros. & Rudd Odyssey 'Crafted in Cask' 2007 Undisclosed Islay Cask #10009 Single Malt Scotch Whisky features ashy smoke swirls around dried fruits - figs, raisins, and spiced dates - before giving way to a rich nuttiness of almonds, hazelnuts, and nutmeg. The sherry influence brings depth, its sweetness tempered by a subtle earthiness of tobacco leaf. A light dusting of icing sugar flits across the palate, offering contrast before the smoke reasserts itself in a long, smouldering finish. A bold yet balanced dram, where peat and Oloroso richness entwine.
