THE PROCESS

Berry Bros. & Rudd, the oldest independent bottler in the United Kingdom, introduced the Crafted in Cask series to showcase how unique cask finishes can enhance and deepen the natural character of a whisky. Each bottling combines the authentic expression of the distillery with an added layer of complexity and refinement.

This Caol Ila was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2025, after 18 years of maturation with a special Moscatel cask finish. The result is a powerful Islay single malt where smoky peat and maritime notes beautifully intertwine with the sweet and fruity influences of Moscatel.

TASTE PROFILE

Nose
Smoky peat, sea breeze and citrus entwined with raisins and honeyed wine notes.

Palate
Rich and full-bodied, with flavours of dark chocolate, dried apricots, smoke and a touch of spicy sweetness.

Finish
Long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, dried fruit and an elegant hint of wine-like sweetness.
