The apricot, considered a close cousin of the plum, originally comes from China where it has been cultivated for over 2,000 years. Fleshy fruit with a hard core and sweet flesh, the apricot has a bright color ranging from dark yellow to orange. In France, it is thanks in particular to Louis XIV, the “Sun King”, that the apricot takes off. Giffard has selected the Roussillon variety for its firm, sweet and very fragrant flesh.
Brown with golden hues, accompanied by aromas reminiscent of apricot juice. On the palate, delicate almond notes lead into the sweetness of a ripe apricot, with a vegetal hint and sweet spices similar to a caramelised apricot marmalade.
