THE PROCESS

Originally from France and Italy, bitter liqueurs were recognized in the 19th century for their medicinal virtues. Democratized during the 20th century as aperitif or digestive liqueurs, they are nowadays essentials, driven by the trend of bitter cocktails such as the spritz. They are traditionally obtained from the maceration or distillation of characteristic plants and fruits such as citrus and bitter aromatic plants like gentian.

TASTE PROFILE

Bright orange in colour, the scent is fresh and fruity, led by vibrant orange notes with a subtle touch of bitterness. On the palate, orange flavours take centre stage, rounded out by lively hints of grapefruit zest and rhubarb that bring freshness, and lifted by a gentle, herbaceous bitterness from gentian for balance and complexity.

HOW TO DRINK:

Neat or in cocktails such as a spritz topped up with sparkling water, or other bitter cocktails like Negroni
