The Takamaka Rum Le Clos Napa Laz December 2022 is an excellent rum that is distilled in a copper pot still from fresh sugar cane juice. Produced by the renowned Trois-Frères distillery, which was founded in Saint-André in 2002 by Richard and Bernard d'Offay, this rum impresses with its artisanal precision. During fermentation the temperature is closely monitored and only the best “hearts” are selected during the distillation process. “Heads” and “tails” are redistilled to extract additional flavors.
The end result consists of 16.5% freshly distilled hearts and 83.5% from the re-distilled blend, which gives the Takamaka Rum Le Clos Napa Laz 0.5L 53.4% its exceptional complexity and depth.
Bottled with an alcohol content of 53.4% vol., it offers a fascinating taste profile: the nose reveals fresh and exotic fruit notes with a hint of green pepper. On the palate it develops mineral, very fruity and round, accompanied by hints of sourdough. The aftertaste is long-lasting with nuances of green pepper and a striking minerality.
