THE PROCESS

Admiral Rodney HMS Formidable is the oldest and most complex expression within the Admiral Rodney range, produced by St. Lucia Distillers in the Roseau Valley of Saint Lucia. Crafted from molasses on a traditional twin-column Coffey still, the rum develops exceptional richness and depth.

Following distillation, the rum is matured between 9 and 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak. The tropical climate of Saint Lucia intensifies the ageing process, allowing the rum to develop layered notes of oak, spice, dried fruit and dark sweetness while maintaining remarkable smoothness and balance. The rum is named after HMS Formidable, Admiral Rodney’s flagship during the Battle of the Saints in 1782.
